Jack Nicholson with his daughter Lorraine.   Photo:  LORRAINE NICHOLSON/Instagram   Jack Nicholson   spent some quality time with his loved ones over the holiday season.  In an  Instagram post  shared by his daughter Lorraine Nicholson on Thursday, Jan. 2, the actor, 87, was captured sharing a sweet father-daughter moment with the 34-year-old in a rare photo.  The image saw Lorraine smiling as she wrapped her arms around her dad’s shoulders and he placed his hand on her arm.  “Your dad looks great. ❤️,” director  Nancy Meyers , who directed Jack in the 2003 film  Something's Gotta Give , wrote in the comments section. Trump says he will direct Justice Department to ‘vigorously pursue the death penalty

  President-elect Donald Trump said on Tuesday he will direct the Department of Justice to “vigorously pursue the death penalty” after President Joe Biden on Monday   commuted   the death sentences of 37 federal inmates to life in prison. “As soon as I am inaugurated, I will direct the Justice Department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters. We will be a Nation of Law and Order again!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, echoing his long-standing advocacy for use of the death penalty, which was part of his tough-on-crime rhetoric during the 2024 campaign. DOJ finds Oklahoma City police discriminate against people with behavioral disabilities

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City and its police department have discriminated against people with behavioral health disabilities, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday after releasing the latest in a series of investigations into state and local law enforcement agencies. In its 45-page report, the DOJ found the city unnecessarily institutionalizes adults with mental illness and that the police department often escalates crisis situations by responding with armed officers instead of with behavioral health professionals. “As a result, urgent mental health needs often go unaddressed and crisis situations are needlessly escalated, sometimes leading to avoidable use of force,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division said in a statement.
